Hamas Confirms Gaza Division Commander Killed in Israeli Airstrikes

Palestinian militant group Hamas has confirmed that its Gaza City commander Bassem Issa was killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Despite Issa’s death, Hamas said it would continue to continue its fight against Israel.

The Shin Bet, the Israeli security services, said that aside from Issa 16 other senior Hamas figures were also killed.

“Our martyred leaders are the fuel for our project of liberating our land,” said Hamas political bureau member Mousa Doudin.

Hamas has not yet shown any signs of surrendering despite the ongoing Israeli counteroffensive and continued to launch rocket barrages into Israeli cities.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniya said Israel is responsible for the consequences they are facing after ‘”gniting fire in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.”

“If they (Israel) want to escalate, the resistance is ready; and if they want to stop, the resistance is ready,” said Haniya.

Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades has also issued a new ultimatum to Israel telling the Israeli government to leave the Al Aqsa Mosque and Shiekh Jarrah or “100 times” more rockets will be fired at 6 pm towards new targets on Wednesday.
