Subaru Recalls 2017-2019 Imprezas and Crosstreks Due to Faulty Engine Control Module

Subaru recalled 466,205 model year 2017-2019 Imprezas and model year 2018-2019 Crosstreks due to potential safety risk.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) may continue to power the ignition coil after the engine is shut off, causing a short circuit.

A short circuit in the ignition coils may cause a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Subaru will notify owners, while dealers will update the ECM software, replace the ignition coils, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin May 28, 2021.

There have been no reported incidents to date.
