Honda Recalls CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Motorcycles Due to Misinstalled Rear Cushion Connecting Plate

American Honda Motor Co., recalled 89 model year 2021 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP motorcycles due to potential safety risk.

The rear cushion connecting plates may have been installed incorrectly, which may cause it/them to break.

Broken plates may cause a sudden drop to the vehicle height, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Honda will notify owners, while dealers will inspect and replace both rear cushion connecting plates, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin June 7, 2021.

There have been no reported incidents to date.
