Australian Jailed for Filming and Mocking Dying Police Officers

An Australian driver has been placed in jail for 10 months for filming and mocking four police officers as they lay dying after hit by a truck.

Richard Pusey, 42, has been pleaded guilty to the rare charge of outraging public decency, as well as other offenses.

Instead of helping the dying officers, Pusey filmed the scene, saying “he’s smashed,” “justice,” “absolutely amazing” and “beautiful.”

The sentencing judge Trevor Wraight described the man’s action as “callous and reprehensible.”

“Your conduct … was heartless, cruel and disgraceful,” the judge added.

Pusey has already been in custody for almost 300 days and will probably complete his sentence in the next few days.

Wraight earlier said that the media had demonized Pusey to the point where he was “probably the most hated man in Australia.”
