A Tunisian national entered a police station in Rambouillet, Yvelines region near Prism, and suddenly stabbed a policewoman to death.
The suspect reportedly stabbed the policewoman in the throat before he was shot and killed by other officers at the station.
The slain officer was identified as a 49-year old mother of two working as an administrative officer of the police station while the suspect was a 36-year-old Tunisian who arrived in France in 2009.
French Prime Minister Jean Castex, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, and other government officials visited the crime scene to show their support for the police.
The police has not yet released any information about a possible motive while the anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office has not yet been called to investigate.
