Cummins Recalls Electric Drivetrain Due to Potential Safety Risk

Cummins recalled 33 Electric Drivetrains, part number PD7000 due to potential safety risk.

The electric drive train cannot detect isolation faults when the high voltage contactors are closed.

An undetected high voltage isolation can expose service personnel to high voltage, increasing the risk of injury.

Cummins will notify owners, while dealers will update the Vehicle Control Unit software or install a different combination of High Voltage Power Distribution Unit hardware, free of charge.

The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

There have been no reported incidents to date.
