Father and Daughter Shot at McDonald’s drive-thru in Chicago

A 7 year old girl was shot and killed in a McDonald’s drive-thru in Chicago, with her father shot and listed in serious condition.

Jontae Adams, age 28, and his daughter Jaslyn, age 7, were getting food at the drive-thru in Homan Square at 4:20 P.M. on Sunday when two unidentified individuals got out of a gray car and opened fire on the Adam’s silver Infiniti.

Jaslyn was shot multiple times and was rushed to Stroger Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. Jontae called his mother, Lawanda McMullen, following the shooting, saying “Ma, come get me. They just shot my baby.”

Jontae is currently still in Stroger Hospital in serious condition according to medical staff.

Chicago police believe the shooting to be gang-related, and potentially linked to a shooting that took place 3 hours later in a Popeyes. A 33-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were getting food at a Popeyes drive-thru at Chicago and Kedzie, when they were shot. Both are currently in Stroger Hospital, the man in serious condition while the woman is in critical.

Chicago police told the reporters that these were bold shootings and that it was “Unbelievable, they did this in front of all those cameras,” said an anonymous source for the Chicago Sun Times.

An investigation into both shootings is currently underway, with the local neighborhoods calling for an end to “senseless violence”.
