Danville Area Community College (DACC) in Illinois announced plans to offer a free summer class online or in-person for students with vaccination cards.
Students with a CDC vaccination card can pick any summer class to attend with all course fees waived including book or lab equipment costs. Companies and institutions across the country are offering all kinds of incentives for vaccination ranging from free donuts and beer to free fare rides and mask exemptions.
DACC began hosting vaccine clinics in March with help from the U.S. National Guard. Alongside its vaccine efforts, the campus will be shortening its Summer semester from the usual seven weeks.
Nearly 40 percent of Illinois residents have received at least 1 dose of the COVID-19 vaccination, coming out to around 5 million.
