Taiwan Reports Largest Ever Chinese Air Force Incursion, 20 Jets Spotted

The Taiwanese Defense Ministry reported that at least 20 Chinese jets have entered their air defense identification zone (ADIZ), the largest incursion they have encountered so far.

In response to the incursion, the Taiwanese air force deployed missiles and warned the Chinese aircraft through radio.

According to the Taiwanese Armed forces, the flight group was composed of 10 J-16 fighters, four H-6K bombers, two J-10 jets, two Y-8 anti-submarine planes, one Y-8 RECCE reconnaissance aircraft, and one KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft.

The Chinese flight group reportedly flew the Bashi Channel near the Philippines after passing the ADIZ.

The defense ministry recently announced that the Chinese military flights over the waters between the southern part of Taiwan and the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands in the South China Sea have been conducted almost daily since last year.
