A farmer detonated a homemade bomb in a village government office in Mingjing Village, southern China, and killed at least four people and wounded many others.
The farmer was allegedly protesting the village government’s decision to give 270 acres to a developer and to relocate them.
Footage from the scene shared on Weibo show the government office splattered with blood and debris.
According to residents, the intensity of the blast was so strong, it caused a house to collapse and blew out the windows of others.
Local police said they managed to rescue several injured people from the blast site but did not state how many.
Additional footage from the scene has shown firemen and rescue personnel inspecting the area and crying out the wounded.
