KTM and Husqvarna Recalls Course Competition Motorcycles Due to Battery Causing a Short Circuit

KTM North America and Husqvarna Motorcycles North America of Murrieta, Calif., recalled about 300 KTM SX-E 5 and Husqvarna EE-5 motorcycles due to potential safety risk.

Water can get into the battery causing a short circuit, posing a crash hazard.

This recall involves model year 2021 KTM SX-E 5 and Husqvarna EE-5 closed course/competition mini-motorcycles with an electric motor.

The motorcycles were manufactured in Austria and were sold at KTM and Husqvarna Motorcycles authorized dealers nationwide.

The company urges consumers to immediately stop riding the recalled motorcycles and to contact an authorized KTM or Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer, respective of their motorcycle brand, to schedule a free repair.

There have been no reported incidents to date.
