Nigerian Authorities Foil Mass Kidnapping in Ikara

The Nigerian military foiled a plan by armed bandits to kidnap students from the Government Science Secondary School, Ikara, Kaduna State on Sunday.

Armed men attacked the school early on Sunday but were intercepted by the military, Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs said.

Aruwan further assured the public that all 307 students of the school were safe.

As bandits entered the school in the early hours of Sunday, the students alerted security agents using the security warning system. The army, police, and other local security forces stormed the school and chased out the bandits.

The foiled kidnapping comes just days after a similar attack on the  Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation where dozens of students were abducted.
