Music Producers Arrested in Iran Over Controversial Video

Iranian authorities have arrested the music producers of a controversial music video of US-based Iranian pop singer Sasy, on Wednesday.

A music video titled Tehran Tokyo by Sasan Heidari Yafteh, known as Sasy, released recently has caused the arrests of brothers Mohsen and Behrouz Manouchehri who arranged the music, according to Sasy’s manager Farshid Rafe Rafahi.

Rafahi, CEO of EMH Productions based in Los Angeles, added that the brothers are now facing charges in a criminal court in capital Tehran.

The music video, which also featured US adult film actress Alexis Texas, caused public distress.

“It’s pretty crazy, she’s just dancing like any person in any ordinary music video, she’s not doing anything inappropriate in these scenes,” Rafahi said.

“Sasy’s mission isn’t to create havoc, it’s to make people happy,” he added.

Sasy left Iran in 2009 and is now living as a permanent resident in the US.
