Supermarket Co-op Recalls Cakes, Meatballs and Wheat Bixies Due to Potential Health Risk

Supermarket Co-op recalled Irresistible Carrot Cake, Irresistible Coffee and Walnut Cake, British 12 Meatballs and Crownfield Wholegrain Wheat Bixies 36 due to potential contamination of extraneous materials, specifically pieces of glass and plastic, posing a potential health risk to consumers.

The recalled products were distributed to retail locations in the United Kingdom.

Food Standards Agency (FSA) urges consumers who have purchased these products to not consume them.

They have advised that the contaminated products should be thrown away or returned to the point of sale.

FSA also conducts recall effectiveness checks to ensure that the firms were able to notify their customers of the recall and that appropriate steps were taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.

There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses due to the consumption of these products thus far.
