Mazda North American Operations Recalls Vehicles Due to Potential Safety Risk

Mazda North American Operations recalled 13,857 model year 2020-2021 CX-30s due to potential safety risk.

When fully opened, the power liftgate may lower unexpectedly when the vehicle is parked facing uphill on a slope.

The power liftgate lowering unexpectedly while a person is accessing the rear storage area of the vehicle can increase the risk of injury.

Mazda have notified owners, while dealers will update the power liftgate control module software and inspect the serial number of the power liftgate drive unit, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin April 19, 2021.

There have been no reported incidents to date.
