Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Philip has been transferred back to King Edward VII’s hospital after undergoing a successful heart operation at St Bartholomew’s.
An ambulance, followed by a car carrying the duke’s personal protection officers, was reportedly seen leaving St Bartholomew’s.
“Following the Duke of Edinburgh’s successful procedure at St Bartholomew’s hospital on Wednesday, His Royal Highness has been transferred to King Edward VII’s hospital this morning. The duke is expected to remain in the hospital for continuing treatment for a number of days,” said the palace.
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, said last Wednesday that Philip’s condition was “slightly improving” after his transfer and that they were hoping for the best.
Philip has been hospitalized since February 16 after spending the duration of the pandemic in seclusion at Windsor Castle.
