Users of the robot vacuum cleaner Roomba have been complaining about strange behavior from their devices after a recent software patch.
Complaints report problems like spinning around, going in strange routes, charging all the time, or not charging at all in some cases. The issues arose after Roomba developer iRobot released a software patch for the i7 and s9 Roomba models.
iRobot has acknowledged the incident and has told media that they are working with affected customers to “roll back” the software update and hopefully fix the issue. They are asking affected users to share their serial numbers so that they can be identified in the software fix.
The software fix “would take several weeks” according to statements made to BBC, with dozens of Twitter users posting to social media with a host of bugs and strange behavior.
