Armenian protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian have stormed a government building in the capital Yerevan.
The protesters were reported to be members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party and were shown on video chanting “Armenia without Nikol,” as they entered the building.
The protesters then demonstrated in the lobby on the ground floor and chanted slogans telling government officials to not support Pashinian.
There was no violent altercation or vandalism because the protesters left the building immediately after shouting their demands.
“We are halting our action. Our goal was to show that we can enter any ministry,” said a protester.
Pashinian last week accused the military of attempting a coup after the general staff called for his resignation while national protests have been ongoing since November.
