Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA recalled 8,281 model year 2019-2021 YZF-R3 motorcycles, model year 2019-2020 XMAX (CDZ300) scooters, and model year 2020 MT03 motorcycles due to potential safety risk.
The vehicle identification number (VIN) printed on the federal certification label may not match the VIN stamped on the vehicle.
Owners that are referencing an incorrect VIN label, may not recognize their vehicle is involved in a safety recall, and may not have the recall remedy performed, which could increase the risk of injury, fire or a crash.
Yamaha have notified owners, while dealers have installed a correct certification label, free of charge.
There have been no reported incidents to date.
