Stevie Wonder, who is known for such hits as “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You,” says he is moving to Ghana to escape the political turmoil in the U.S.
The singer revealed his plans in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying “I wanna see this nation smile again. And I want to see it before I leave to travel to move to Ghana because I’m going to do that.”
Oprah asked if he was moving permanently to Ghana, to which he replied “I am.”
This isn’t the first time Wonder has considered moving to Ghana. In 1994, the singer announced his intent to move to the country, stating that he felt there was “more of a sense of community” in Ghana than in the US.
