Three People Killed During Shootout in Louisiana Gun Store

At least three people were killed and two were injured in a shooting at the Jefferson Gun Outlet and firing range in Metairie, Lousiana.

The shooting began after the suspect Joshua Jamal Williams carried a pistol with an extended magazine into the gun shop and shot store clerk Herbert “Noah” Fischbach after he was told to unload his firearm.

“(Williams) became agitated by the request and pulled his gun out of his pants and started firing. Our armed and trained employees, as well as some armed, permitted customers, returned fire, and eliminated the threat. One customer as well as one employee perished in the gun battle. Joshua Williams, the gunman, is also dead,” said store owner Michael Mayer.

The two other victims were a man and a woman whose identities were not disclosed while customer Veronica Billot was seriously wounded.

News footage from the scene has shown bullet holes in the window of the gun store and in cars in the parking lot after the shooting.
