Armed assailants killed at least 23 people in simultaneous attacks on 5 districts in Kaduna state, Nigeria. Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed the killings in a statement.
Aruwan further mentioned that several shops were looted and 10 people were killed in one district during the attack.
The commissioner stated that due to the insecurity in the state, the Kaduna state government received reports from security agencies notifying the government of the murder of 23 citizens in Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Chikun, Igabi, and Kauru which he described as soft targets.
The attack happened barely 72 hours after similar raids in Birnin Gwari and Kajuru districts killing 19 people.
