Subaru Recalls Outbacks and Imprezas due to Potential Safety Risk

Subaru of America recalled 383 model year 2021 Outbacks and Imprezas due to potential safety risk.

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) select lever cable nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the nut to potentially loosen.

A loose nut can lead to a lost of retention in the CVT select lever cable and the gear selector not functioning properly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Subaru will notify owners, while dealers will inspect and tighten the nut, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin February 19, 2021.

There have been no reported incidents thus far.
