Mary Wilson, a founding member of the Motown band The Supremes, dies at 76. She died February 8 in her home in Henderson, Nevada.
The cause of death is hasn’t been released to the publicm
With the Supremes, Wilson recorded several hit songs including “Stop! in the Name of Love,” “Come See About Me,” “Baby Love,” “Back in My Arms Again,” and “Where Did Our Love Go” which all became No. 1 hit singles.
In a statement, her publicist said she “passed away suddenly this evening”. Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown, described the Supremes as the “sweethearts of Motown”, stating that Wilson will be deeply missed.
Wilson is survived by her children, grandchildren, and siblings.
Wilson’s publicist stated that due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be private and there will be a celebration of her life later this year.
