Man Armed with Weapons and Ballistic Armor Arrested at Las Vegas Area Airport

A Nevada man, Etori Hughes, was arrested after brandishing a gun and a blade at Henderson Executive Airport in Las Vegas on January 30th.

The 45-year-old Nevada resident was spotted in the parking lot by an employee of All in Aviation, who made the 911 call to local authorities. Police found a 9mm handgun, two swords, a smoke grenade, a ballistic vest and a gas mask on Hughes when they made the arrest.

Hughes was allegedly trying to gain access to the Henderson Flight School according to US Attorney Nicholas Trutanich. Trutanich also noted that Hughes had been banned from purchasing any firearms after a restraining order issued in New Orleans back in 2012.

Hughes appeared before US Magistrate Judge Daniel Albregts, who has set the preliminary hearing for February 19th.
