WishGarden Herbs, Inc. Recalls Powdered Products Due to Potential Health Risk

WishGarden Herbs, Inc. recalled 14 lots of Cord Care and Goldenseal Powder products due to potential microbial contamination.

The product was recalled after a routine sampling by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The samples obtained found these products to be contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii, a germ that can live in very dry places.

Cronobacter is usually found in dry foods, such as powdered products. It has also been found in sewer water.

According to the FDA, healthy patients who use the contaminated products can result in infections necessitating antimicrobial and would potentially require surgical treatment. These infections can also cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in people with weakened immune systems.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide in the USA.

WishGarden Herbs, Inc. has provided information to the retailers who have purchased the recalled product. The company urges retailers to contact their customers to facilitate the return of the contaminated products.

The company also encourages consumers who have purchased the recalled powdered products to not consume it and to return it to point-of-sale for a full refund.

There have been no illnesses thus far.
