Idaho resident Orlene Peterson wins back-to-back scratch off tickets to total $500,000 in winnings on two consecutive days.
Peterson purchased the first winning ticket from an Albertsons in Hayden Idaho on Friday, which payed out $200,000. The following morning, Peterson purchased a Comin’ in Hot ticket from a Fred Meyer in Coeur d’Alene, winning another $300,000.
Lottery officials are stunned by Peterson’s luck, estimating that the odds of winning two back-to-back tickets within two days from two different stores is around 1 in 282.5 million.
Peterson plans to pay off her debt and buy a new truck, saying that anything left over may be used for a trip to Las Vegas.
