Australia has now recorded 81 homes destroyed due to the wildfire in Perth which started earlier this week.
Firefighters are now struggling to contain the raging fire with a 136-km perimeter, ravaging more than 10,000 hectares.
WA Premier Mark McGowan said, “The devastation caused by these bushfires is almost too much to comprehend. We’re all thinking of those who’ve lost their homes. In some cases, their livelihoods, or had serious damage to their property. It’s devastating,” on Thursday.
Meanwhile, firefighters were able to save properties at Shady Hills Estate but the Premier reminded that emergency warnings are still in place.
Police commissioner Chris Dawson said that they are still working with the fire department to determine the cause of the fire.
Authorities also cautioned some residents that it was still unsafe to return to their homes.
McGowan said the government would be providing emergency funds for residents whose homes had been destroyed or damaged.
