Trading app Robinhood is down to 1.1 Stars on the Google Play store after negative reactions from consumers amidst the GameStop (GME) and AMC stock squeeze.
The once popular trading app found themselves in hot water this week after removing GME and AMC as available trades for consumers. Robinhood removed these stocks in response to massive rush on them brought on by r/wallstreetbets.
Google Play came to the aid of Robinhood last week when the company was review bombed, removing over 100,000 negative reviews.
This time, Google has said they will stay out of it. They have made a formal press statement claiming that their influence is only to protect app developers from review bombing, and not to influence the success or failure of an app.
