Sony Pictures Posts $212 Million Quarterly Profit for 2020 Q3

Sony Pictures Entertainment has recorded a $212 Million profit in the third quarter of the Fiscal Year 2020 despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Sony Pictures’ figures for 2020 were 17% to $1.8B  lower compared to Q3 last year due to lesser theatrical releases and licensing sales.

There were only 4 releases in 2020, “Jumanji: The Next Level,” “Zombieland: Double Tap,” “Monster Hunter,” and “Little Women.”

The total theatrical revenue for the third quarter was just $14 million, down from $354 million for the corresponding period in 2019.

For 2021, Sony Pictures announced they will release the Marvel movie “Morbius,” the video game adaptation “Uncharted,” Camila Cabello’s “Cinderella” and the next “Ghostbusters” film.
