Afghan Judge Assassinated in Jalalabad

An Afghan Judge, Hafizullah has been ambushed and killed by unidentified assailants in the eastern city of Jalalabad.

Farid Khan, spokesman for Nangarhar Province’s police said Hafizulla was on his way to work on a motor trishaw when he was shot.

Hafizullah is the third judge to be assassinated in Afghanistan this year. 

Aside from judges, assassination targets included religious leaders, journalists, activists, and doctors.

It is still unknown who is behind the killings but attacks from the IS  have been increasing while peace talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government are still ongoing. 

Aside from the assassination, there was also a car bombing that targeted a joint base of security forces in Uruzgan province which left four dead.
