At least two FBI agents killed while 3 were wounded while serving a warrant against a suspect in Sunrise, Florida.
Sunrise Police spokeswoman Otishia Browning-Smith said the agents were serving a warrant at the Water Terrace apartment complex at 6:04 a.m. when the suspect opened fire on them.
“A team of law enforcement officers were there to execute a federal court-ordered search warrant in furtherance of violent crimes against children case,” said the FBI.
The unnamed suspect reportedly barricaded himself inside his house before he was shot and killed after refusing to surrender.
The officers who were shot were taken to a hospital in Fort Lauderdale for treatment.
The FBI has not released the names of the deceased agents but said that they are still conducting investigations on the incident.
As of 9:04 a.m., the Sunrise Police Department said the scene was safe but asked people to remain in their homes due to the ongoing investigation.
