The popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival have been canceled for the second consecutive year, according to the event organizer.
Los Angeles based Goldenvoice cited an order issued Friday by Cameron Kaiser, a public health officer for California’s Riverside County who cited the worldwide epidemic of Covid-19 as the reason the events were canceled.
Goldenvoice has not indicated if they would attempt to find a later date for the festivals.
The local economy of the Coachella Valley suffered a drop in revenue of up to $700m because of the cancellation of the 2020 festival according to media reports.
