Think! and Interpac Technologies, Inc. Recalls Oatmeal due to Undeclared Allergens

Think! and Interpac Technologies, Inc., of Woodland, California recalled specific lots of think! Protein + Fiber Oatmeal, Farmer’s Market Berry Crumble products due to undeclared allergens.

The recalled product did not indicate the presence of almonds and pecans, posing a potential health risk for people who consumed the product and have an allergy to the undeclared ingredients.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a person experiencing an allergic reaction to almonds and pecans may experience hives, itching or eczema, swelling of the lips, face, tongue and throat, nasal congestion, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting and dizziness.

The mislabeled products were distributed nationwide.

In response to this, think! and Interpac Technologies, Inc. has ceased distribution and removed the affected product from store shelves. 

The company has also issued point-of-sale alerts to its customers to explain why the product is being recalled. In these notices, the company advises their customers who have purchased the product and have an allergy or intolerance to not consume it. 

Instead, they encourage their customers to return it to the point of sale for a full refund. They also provide the option to contact them for more information and concerns about the affected product.

There have been no illnesses reported to date.
