Trump Grants 73 Pardons, 70 Commutations

In the hours before he leaves office, President Donald Trump has granted 73 pardons and another 70 commutations.

Among those pardoned is President Trump’s former adviser Steve Bannon who was convicted of fraud.

In a statement, the White House said, “President Trump granted a full pardon to Stephen Bannon. Prosecutors pursued Mr. Bannon with charges related to fraud stemming from his involvement in a political project. Mr. Bannon has been an important leader in the conservative movement and is known for his political acumen.”

The outgoing president also pardoned Elliott Broidy, the former Deputy National Finance Chair of the Republican National Committee, who was convicted of “conspiracy to serve as an unregistered agent of a foreign principal.”

The president also granted full pardon to rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., known as Lil Wayne and commuted rapper Bill K. Kapri, known as Kodak Black’s sentence citing his philanthropic efforts.
