Maribel’s Sweets of Brooklyn New York recalled 5oz Cacao Market Cylinder Dark Chocolate Pearls due to an undeclared allergen, which is milk.

The mislabeled product did not indicate the presence of milk, posing a potential health risk for people who consumed the product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), common signs and symptoms of a lactose intolerance include diarrhea, nausea, and sometimes vomiting.

Cacao Market Cylinder Dark Chocolate Pearls were distributed to New York.

In response to this, Maribel’s Sweets of Brooklyn New York representatives have been coordinating with retail stores, instructing them to immediately remove the product from store shelves and inventories.

The company has also issued a point of sale notice to its customers to explain why the product is being recalled and what to do if they have purchased the product.

Maribel’s Sweets of Brooklyn New York has advised their customers who bought the product and are allergic to milk to not consume it and to return it to the point of sale for a full refund.

There have been no reported illnesses thus far.
