The independent BelaPAN news agency reported that Belarusian Police onboard unmarked vans and an ambulance have raided their offices in Minsk

“We have no contact with the editorial office staff. They do not take the calls,” said BelaPAN editor-in-chief Irina Levshina said before she went to their offices.

BelaPAN journalist Tatsyana Bublikava said that the Belarusian Investigative Committee conducted the search because a former BelaPAN employee, Andrey Alyaksandrau was arrested for participating in the national mass protests.

“At 12.10 am a search began in the BelaPAN news agency. People in uniform came to us,” said Bublikava.

Bublikava reportedly suffered a spike in her blood pressure during the raid and was accompanied by an officer to the hospital but was prevented from using her phone.

BelaPAN’s Lawyer Sergei Zikratsky went to the agency’s office but was prevented from going outside by the police.

The police have reportedly seized handwritten notes and printed documents, hard drives from computers and the server, and laptops from the offices.
