Pakistan will commence constructing a 1,1000 kilometer pipeline with Russia in July 2021 that will permit the South Asian nation to operate more liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals.

According to Nadeem Babar, the petroleum adviser to the prime minister, Pakistan would have a majority share of 51 percent to 74 percent in the project, while Russia would have the remainder.

Pakistan’s gas distribution companies, which are Sui Southern Gas and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines, have started acquiring land for the pipeline that will be a part of the project, while Russia will head the construction.

The nation has come to the decision that it will strictly import cleaner Euro-5 diesel only from January after doing the same for gasoline earlier this year.

Pakistan also plans to add 150 million cubic feet per day of domestic gas output this month, including 50 million cubic feet per day from the Mari gas field.
