ISIS Ambushes Bus in Syria, 37 Dead

Alleged Islamic State jihadists killed 37 Syrian soldiers in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor while they were traveling home on a bus convoy for the new year holidays.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, alleged Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists killed 37 Syrian soldiers in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor while they were traveling home on a bus convoy for the new year holidays.

Syrian news agency SANA reported differently and said that the attack wounded 13 and killed 25 civilians. 

Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the ambush “was one of the deadliest attacks” so far.  

The attackers reportedly detonated bombs before opening fire at the bus convoy,  two other vehicles escaped..

There was no direct claim from ISIS yet but SANA claimed that sleeper cells were operating in the area.
