A male 45-year-old nurse in California tested positive for COVID-19 more than a week after receiving Pfizer’s vaccine.

The nurse identified only as Matthew W, a nurse at two different local hospitals said on his Facebook account that he felt numbness in his arm after getting the shot on December 18.

Matthew’s health worsened on Christmas and experienced chills, muscle aches, and fatigue after coming home from his shift.

As a precaution, Matthew went to a drive-through hospital testing site and tested positive for COVID-19.

Dr Christian Ramers, an infectious disease specialist with Family Health Centers of San Diego explained that what happened with Matthew was not unexpected and that it takes at least two weeks to develop an immunity to the virus after getting the virus.
