The outgoing US administration is negotiating with the United Kingdom to try and seal a mini-deal to reduce trade tariffs.

The United Kingdom recently has said that it would be able to drop tariffs against the United States over subsidies for aerospace firms.

Lighthizer has expressed that giving the United States “new access” to UK markets was important, however, it would be “less significant” if it were to receive the same deal that was offered by the United Kingdom to another country.

Lighthizer has also defended the actions of the current administration in destroying the decades worth of multilateral action in building a global trade system.
