Stock Market Closes Trading Session with Gains

The US stock market jumped amid the US Federal Reserve’s latest pledge to support the American economy and the progress in fiscal stimulus negotiations.

On Wednesday, the S&P 500 jumped 0.2 percent to close at 3,701.17, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.5 percent to close at 12,658.19, and the Dow Jones fell 0.15 percent, to close at 30,154.54.

In Asia, the HSI jumped 0.97 percent to be at 26490.29, while Japan’s NIKKEI jumped 0.26 percent to be at 26757.40, and China’s SHANGHAI fell 0.01 percent to be at 3366.98. In European markets, the STOXX jumped 0.93 percent to be at 3101.23, while the FTSE jumped 0.88 percent to be at 6570.91.

In commodities, oil prices fell 0.04 percent to be at $47,80 per barrel, while natural gas prices jumped 0.41 percent to be at $2,69 per BTU.

Meanwhile, platinum prices jumped 0.44 percent to be at $1,040 per ounce while copper prices jumped 0.03 percent to be at $3,56 per pound. Also, gold prices jumped 0.52 percent to be at $1,868 per ounce and silver prices jumped 1.51 percent to be at $25,43 per ounce.

In currencies, the Euro fell 0.0608 percent to be at $0,8222 per US dollar, while the Yen fell 0.0386 percent or 0.0400 points, and the Sterling fell 0.1481 percent to be at $0,7416 per US dollar.
