Germany COVID-19 Cases Reach Almost 30,000

Germany’s total COVID-19 cases almost reached 500,000 as the country recorded more than 18,000 new infections on Friday, which is the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic.

The previous single-day record was 16,774, which was registered on Thursday.

According to local health authorities, there have been 77 more fatalities due to the disease, bringing the overall death toll of Germany to 10,349.

According to the figures that was published by the daily Tagesspiegel, Germany currently has 142,218 active cases.

In Europe, Germany has the fifth-highest recorded number of COVID-19 infections, ranking behind Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy and France.
