The Moroccan Royal Office on Tuesday has announced that the government will be immunizing its citizens against the coronavirus for free, as it expects the roll out of the vaccine “in the coming weeks.”

Statement by the Royal Office said, “His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has given His high Instructions to the Government to adopt free-of-charge vaccination against the COVID-19 epidemic for the benefit of all Moroccans.”

The country is targeting to vaccinate around 20 million people in three months. Frontline medical workers and those who are at a higher risk of being infected will be the priority for the immunization.

Meanwhile, Morocco now has 384, 088 cases with 2,900 new cases as of Tuesday.
