COVID-19 Death Toll in Iran Surpasses 50,000

The COVID-19 death toll in Iran has exceeded 50,000 on Dec. 5, Ministry of Health and Medical Education Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said.

The COVID-19 death toll in Iran has exceeded 50,000 on Dec. 5, Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said.

Lari said at a daily press conference that 321 patients have died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in the worst-hit country in the Middle East to 50,016.

Lari also said that 12,181 new cases were recorded yesterday, bring the total number of cases to 1,288,986. She also said that 1,562 of the new cases were admitted to the hospital.

Lari added that 5,817 patients are in critical condition.

Globally, the total number of cases has reached over 66 million and the total number of deaths has reached over 1.52 million.
