5.3 Quake Rocked Turkey and Cyprus

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 has struck in the Mediterranean Sea near Turkey and was felt as far as Cyprus.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 has struck in the Mediterranean Sea near Turkey and was felt as far as Cyprus. 

The quake struck after 12:45 pm (3:45 pm local time) while its epicenter was south of the coastal resort town of Antalya.

According to the USGS the epicenter was located 36.015°N  31.861°E and had a depth of 82.1 km.

Residents in the town of Mahmutlar in Antalya said they felt their houses sway because of the quake.

There there are still no immediate reports of casualties or damage to any buildings.
