Fiat Chrysler’s unit chief executive Davide Grasso announced on Thursday afternoon that every single vehicle of the automaker’s premium brand Maserati will be electrified, either hybrid or full-electric in the next five years.

During a fashion web event organized by Italian daily Milano Finanza, Grasso said that Maserati’s new SUV Grecale will be released in the first two quarters of 2021, pointing out that it will be initially offered both in a combustion-engine and in a hybrid version.

“The new Gran Turismo and Gran Cabrio models will be electrified too, all our line-up will be electrified in the next five years. We understand that big achievements require big efforts, and we are willing to take this road despite the obstacles that could suddenly appear in our way,” Grasso said.

Last year, Maserati said in a Twitter post that a full-electric version of the Grecale SUV is expected at a later stage. So far, it remains unclear in which part of 2021 this vehicle will be released.
