Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has announced that the Covid-19 vaccine is expected to be available in the country by the end of the year and will be free for all its citizens.

The vaccines will be administered to Kuwaiti citizens for free, if these are made available based on agreements with the firms producing the vaccines.

The ministry plans to import 5.7 million doses of the vaccine for about 2.8 million people, sources at the ministry revealed. Out of these doses, one million will come from Pfizer, 1.7 million from Moderna and three million from Oxford-AstraZeneca.

Priority for the vaccine will be given for target groups and citizens, particularly the elderly, frontline health workers and those with illnesses and special needs.
