Tokyo Reports 522 COVD-19 Cases

Tokyo’s metropolitan government reported 522 new COVID-19 cases after the number of cases topped 500 for the first time the previous day at 534.

Tokyo’s metropolitan government reported 522 new COVID-19 cases after the number of cases topped 500 for the first time the previous day at 534 after 6,880 tests were conducted on November 17. 

Most of the recent cases were people in their 20s (122), followed by 92 in their 50s, 89 in their 30s, and 84 in their 40s while 37 of the total had severe cases.

As of Friday, Tokyo’s cumulative totaled 36,778 which raised fears of a third.

Aside from Tokyo, 21 new cases were also reported in the country the same day, including seven in Hokkaido, three in Osaka, two in Saitama Prefecture, and one each in prefectures including Shizuoka and Okinawa. 

Presently, Japan has 122,966 cases and 1,922 deaths.
