Stock Market Closes Trading Session with Gains

The US stock market jumped as fresh stimulus hopes buoyed investor sentiment. On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial rose 44.81 points, to close at 29,483.23, while the S&P 500 gained 14.08 points, to close at 3,581.87 and the Nasdaq 100 added 103.11 points to close at 11,904.71.

The US stock market jumped as fresh stimulus hopes buoyed investor sentiment. On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial rose 44.81 points, to close at 29,483.23, while the S&P 500 gained 14.08 points, to close at 3,581.87 and the Nasdaq 100 added 103.11 points to close at 11,904.71.

In Asia, the HSI fell 0.71 percent to be at 26356.97, while Japans’ NIKKEI fell 0.36 percent to be at 25634.34, and China’s SHANGHAI jumped 0.47 percent to be at 3363.09. In European markets, the STOXX fell 0.84 percent to be at 3053.68 and the FTSE fell 0.80 percent to be at 6334.35.

In commodities, oil prices jumped 0.43 percent to be at $41,92 per barrel, while natural gas prices fell 0.58 percent to be at $2,58 per BTU.

Meanwhile, platinum prices jumped 0.08 percent to be at $952,30 per ounce while copper prices jumped 0.33 percent to be at $3,21 per pound. Also, gold prices jumped 0.08 percent to be at $1,862,90 and silver prices jumped 0.17 percent to be at $24,09 per ounce.

In currencies, the Euro fell 0.1897 percent to be at $0,8419 per US dollar, while the Yen fell 0.0289 percent or 0.0300 points, and the Sterling jumped 0.1726 percent to be at $0,7546 per US dollar.
